STTmaterials

The STTmaterials platform

A new dimension of materials for industry

We create functional coatings that increase the value of products by refining their surfaces.

$10B+

Annual value of lost hydrogen

Based on current standards for permissible hydrogen loss in storage tanks — the scale our barrier coating addresses.

5×

Cheaper base materials

Structural steel refined with our coatings can replace expensive austenitic steel in cryogenic devices.

25+

Years of scientific practice

Publications, patents and international research projects behind every functional layer we develop.

Our expertise

Scientists from STTmaterials have many years of experience in creating:

Precisely parameterized, proprietary materials with precisely defined functionalities, developed based on sol-gel technology.

Specialized methods of applying coatings to surfaces that guarantee maintaining the required properties of the layers.

To reduce production costs while maintaining high product quality — e.g., replacing expensive austenitic steel with cheaper structural steel refined with our surface solutions.

To receive a product with optimal physical, biological and chemical properties.

To obtain a material with unusual, previously unavailable parameters, adapted to the specificity of innovative solutions.

Why STTmaterials

Laboratory science, translated into industrial production

From proprietary submicron sol-gel materials to an atomization system that coats large-format and geometrically complex surfaces.

  • Proprietary sol-gel formulations with defined parameters
  • Independently validated barrier performance
  • Coating of large-format, complex geometries
  • Tailor-made solutions per industry
  • Cost reduction without quality loss
  • Full scientific documentation and reporting

Industries

Where our coatings work

Hydrogen

Barrier layers that retain hydrogen and open previously unavailable applications.

Construction & machinery

Anti-corrosion protection, scratch resistance and modified surface mechanics.

Offshore & food

Phobic layers for water, oil and other media in aggressive environments.

About us

The people behind the materials

STTmaterials is composed of scientists specializing in materials obtained using the sol-gel method, developing tailor-made solutions for hydrogen, food, medical, construction, machinery and offshore industries.
